U-Pick Season is Here!
Our flower u-pick is officially open as of today and the strawberry patch is pumping! It's a great time for an outing up the creek, and while you're in our neck of the woods stop in at Valentines a few miles north of Langlois - their blueberry U-pick season has also begun (I hear the blueberries are dripping off the bushes right now)!
We've got plenty of dahlias and the first of the sunlowers peeking open this week, and lots more varieties close on their heels: snapdragons, statice, celosia, strawflowers, cosmos, marigolds, yarrow, nigella, zinnias, rudbeckia and more!
U-pick flowers are priced by the tube (small tube = $6, large tube = $12), and sunflowers are by the stem. Look for the flower u-pick sandwich board in the field at the farmstand. There are clippers in the metal bucket next to the sandwich board. When you're done picking, return the clippers to the bucket and check out at the farmstand. Please walk carefully among the flower beds and move around using the intended gaps between varieties to avoid doing damage to the plants.
Our flowers should be in bloom from now until October, with a steady succession of different sunflowers surprising us all summer. Remember to bring your own buckets to take your blooms home in (there's a hose handy at the farmstand).
Happy picking!
